Bishop Mamza declares three days fasting and prayer

The State Chairman of the Christian Association in Nigeria CAN, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has declared a three days of fasting and prayers from Monday to Wednesday next week to seek God’s divine intervention regards recents killings in Adamawa state.

Bishop Dami Mamza who is also the Bishop of Catholic Dioeces of Yola was speaking to journalists in his office in Yola against the recent killings of the CAN of michika local Government, Reverend Lawal Andimi .

Jessica John Bakari who was among the journalists said the Cleric explained that there was need for people in Adamawa and Nigeria in general to turn spiritually out to God going by the rate of killings and other violent crime in the society describing the murder of Reverend Andimi and another pastor in mayo belwa as sad and alarming.

Bishop Dami urged the federal and state Governments to redouble efforts in ensuring lasting security and peace across the country as well as activities of the terrorists in the North East .

The Adamawa CAN chairman who condemned the killing of people in cold blood across Nigeria called for fervent prayers for God to avert and end the trend.

Contributing,the state Chairman of the youth wing of CAN Mr Godwin Joseph expressed sadness over recent killings in the state and appeal to Government to as matter of urgency take proactive measures to address the problem.

Mr Godwin who commiserate with Bishop Dami Mamza, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria and the immediate family of Andimi and pray God to grant him enternal rest.
